The 3M Steri-Drape Irrigation Pouch is a sterile accessory drape used to manage irrigation fluid during surgical and minor procedures. It is designed to be compatible with any existing drape, attaching by way of an adhesive strip that keeps it securely positioned close to the operative site. Fluid entering the pouch passes through an exit port and screen, which helps collect and direct irrigation fluid away from the immediate working area rather than allowing it to pool on the drape or the patient.
This makes it easier for the surgical team to keep the field visible and dry while irrigating a wound or cavity during the procedure. It is a useful addition in general surgery, orthopaedics, urology and other specialties where irrigation is a routine part of the operation.
