3M Ioban 2 Antimicrobial Incise Drape
An antimicrobial incise drape that immobilises bacteria at the skin surface and adheres conformably to the patient, helping guard against surgical site infection.
The 3M Ioban 2 Antimicrobial Incise Drape is an antimicrobial incise film applied over the prepped skin before the surgical incision is made. Unlike a standard incise film, it is treated to provide continuous antimicrobial activity at the wound margin, which works by immobilising bacteria present on the skin surface rather than letting them migrate into the incision.
Its adhesive is designed to conform closely to the patient and stay in place throughout the procedure, which supports a stable barrier around the operative site for the duration of the case. Surgical teams use this type of drape in procedures where reducing the risk of surgical site infection is a particular priority, such as orthopaedic, cardiac and other high-risk cases.
It is supplied under a wide range of catalog numbers covering different sizes and pack formats, allowing hospitals to select the configuration that best matches the procedure being performed.
