The 3M Steri-Drape Adhesive Split Sheet is a sterile surgical drape with a slit cut into one edge, designed to be positioned around a limb, catheter site or other narrow surgical field where a full sheet drape would not fit cleanly. The adhesive strip along the split helps the two edges stay in place once positioned, closing the gap around the site and reducing the chance of the drape shifting during the procedure.
This style of split sheet is used in general surgery, orthopaedics and any case where the surgical team needs to isolate a limb, line or access point from the rest of the sterile field. Operating room staff typically place it after skin preparation, working it around the site before larger field drapes are added.
