The RT225 hose kit is a disposable breathing circuit for neonatal ventilation, configured with a heated inspiratory limb and intended for use with a Fisher & Paykel MR850 humidifier. Heater wire in the inspiratory limb holds gas temperature between the humidification chamber and the patient connection, while the expiratory limb is unheated.
Tubing diameter and circuit volume are scaled for newborn patients, where the compressible volume of the circuit has a material effect on delivered tidal volume. It is used in intensive care for neonatal patients receiving invasive ventilation with active humidification.
