3M Double-Ended Ligature Director, Straight and Angled Tips
A double-ended instrument offering a straight notched tip for anterior brackets and an angled notched tip for easier posterior access.
The 3M Double-Ended Ligature Director, supplied under the Unitek brand, is a chairside hand instrument with two working ends built for tucking and directing ligature wire around orthodontic brackets. One end has a straight, notched tip suited to anterior brackets at the front of the mouth, while the other end carries an angled, notched tip that gives easier access to posterior brackets further back in the arch where a straight instrument would be harder to manoeuvre.
Having both geometries on a single instrument means the clinician can flip between them during an appointment rather than reaching for two separate directors, which speeds up ligature placement across a full arch of brackets. As a reusable stainless instrument, it is sterilised between patients and used repeatedly rather than discarded after one procedure.
It is a companion tool to wire ligature systems and other Unitek ligature placement instruments used in general orthodontic practice.
