The 3M AlastiK Continuous C Module Chain Reel supplies elastomeric power chain in a bulk reel format, with three feet of medium force die-cut chain wound onto each reel. Orthodontists use continuous chain to close spaces and retract teeth by tying it onto a run of brackets along the archwire, and having chain on a reel lets the clinician cut exactly the length needed for each patient rather than working from short pre-cut segments.
The medium force rating is chosen to give a steady, sustained pull without the higher initial force of a heavy chain, suiting cases where gentler, more gradual movement is wanted. It is available in clear, which blends in visually with the teeth, and gray, giving practices a cosmetic choice for patients who prefer a less visible chain.
