Spencer Pro Skid-E Stair Evacuation Chair
A stair evacuation chair from Spencer used to move patients with limited mobility safely down stairwells when lifts are out of service. Clinics, hospitals and rescue teams across the UAE and GCC region rely on it for consistent, everyday performance.
The Spencer Pro Skid-E is a stair evacuation chair designed to move people with mobility limitations down stairways during an emergency, when lifts are unavailable or out of service. It uses two self-braking tracks that control descent, together with an extendable handhold and a lightweight but sturdy frame built from aluminium, PVC, PP and PU, giving the operator stability and control while manoeuvring the patient.
The chair adjusts in height from 107 to 160 cm and has a load capacity of 250 kg, while its handles retract and extend between 111 and 145 cm to suit different operator heights and stairwell layouts. Its front wheels measure roughly 10 cm in diameter, aiding manoeuvrability on flat ground before and after the stairway section of an evacuation.
Facilities managers, hospitals, care homes, hotels and office buildings keep evacuation chairs like this one on hand as part of fire safety and emergency evacuation planning for occupants who cannot use stairs unaided, ensuring a controlled, safer descent for both patient and operator during a genuine emergency.
