Sklar Seiffert Salivary Duct Probe, 7 Inch
A 7 inch sterling silver probe used to explore, locate and gently dilate the salivary ducts during oral and maxillofacial procedures.
The Sklar Seiffert Salivary Duct Probe is a fine, blunt tipped instrument used to explore the path of a salivary duct and assess or gently dilate a narrowing or blockage. Its slender profile lets the surgeon or dentist advance it along the duct with minimal trauma to the surrounding tissue while checking for stones, strictures or other obstructions.
Made from sterling silver, a material traditionally chosen for probes of this kind for its smooth surface and malleability, the instrument measures seven inches overall. Salivary duct probes are used in oral and maxillofacial surgery, ENT clinics and dental practices wherever salivary gland or duct disease is being investigated or treated.
Surgeons, oral surgeons and specialist dentists rely on this size and material combination for the fine tactile feedback it gives during duct exploration. As with other reusable surgical instruments, it should be cleaned and sterilized between patients according to facility protocol.
