Bionex Laryngeal Mirror, Stainless Steel
An autoclavable stainless steel laryngeal mirror used by ENT specialists for clear, accurate visual examination of the throat and larynx.
The Bionex Laryngeal Mirror is a small, angled mirror mounted on a stainless steel handle, used by ENT specialists to examine the back of the throat and larynx during a routine indirect laryngoscopy examination. When gently warmed and positioned at the back of the mouth, the mirror reflects light down onto the larynx and vocal cords, giving the clinician a view of structures that cannot be seen directly, which is important for assessing voice problems, throat pain or suspected lesions.
This examination technique remains a quick, low cost way to get an initial look at the larynx before deciding whether more advanced imaging or endoscopy is needed. Being made from stainless steel, the handle and mirror mount are autoclavable, allowing the instrument to be reprocessed through a standard sterilisation cycle and reused reliably across a busy ENT clinic.
ENT specialists, speech and language therapists working with voice patients, and general practitioners performing throat examinations rely on laryngeal mirrors as a long standing, essential tool in throat assessment. As with other reusable stainless steel instruments, the mirror and handle should be cleaned, disinfected and sterilised between each patient.
