Sklar Miller-Senn Double-Ended Retractor, Blunt
A double ended retractor with a pronged end and a blunt blade end, used to hold soft tissue during general surgical procedures.
The Sklar Miller-Senn Double-Ended Retractor combines two different retraction profiles into a single hand held instrument, with a pronged end on one side of the handle and a blunt blade on the other, so the surgeon or assistant can flip between the two depending on the tissue and depth being retracted at that moment.
The pronged end grips tissue more assertively for firmer traction, while the blunt blade end offers gentler, broader retraction suited to more delicate structures nearby, giving the surgical team flexibility without needing to switch instruments. This double ended design is a practical, general purpose retractor used across general, plastic and other surgical specialties wherever hand held retraction is preferred over a fixed self retaining system.
The row here measures 6-1/2 inches with three blunt prongs and a blunt blade end, and the listing also includes a 6 inch variant with three sharp prongs. As with other Sklar surgical instruments, it is manufactured from surgical stainless steel for repeated sterilisation and use.
