Sklar Merit Cushing Nerve Retractor, 8-1/2 Inch
A fine, blunt tipped nerve retractor measuring 8-1/2 inches, used to gently hold back nerve tissue and delicate structures during surgery.
The Sklar Merit Cushing Nerve Retractor is a delicate handheld retractor used to move and hold nerve tissue or other fine anatomical structures out of the operative field during surgery. The blade is narrow and blunt tipped, shaped to slide beneath a nerve or vessel and lift it gently without the risk of laceration that a sharper edge could cause.
At 8-1/2 inches in length, it offers enough reach for procedures where the surgical site lies at some depth, while remaining light enough for precise manual control. This retractor pattern is associated with neurosurgery and is also used more broadly in general, orthopaedic and reconstructive surgery whenever nerves, tendons or small vessels need to be isolated and protected during dissection or repair.
Manufactured from surgical grade stainless steel, it is built to withstand repeated autoclave sterilisation cycles across its working life. It is commonly included in neurosurgical and general surgery instrument trays alongside other fine retractors and dissecting instruments.
