Sklar Merit Avian Oral Speculum, Small, 5.25 in
A Sklar Merit avian oral speculum, small size, 5.25 inches long, used to hold a bird's beak open safely during examination or minor veterinary procedures.
This Sklar Merit avian oral speculum is designed to hold a bird's beak open, giving the veterinary team safe access to the oral cavity and throat for examination, sample collection or minor procedures without needing to hold the beak by hand throughout. 25 inches, one of three size variants available across the wider product range that also includes medium and large options for bigger birds.
Instruments of this kind are used in avian and exotic veterinary practice wherever oral or throat access is required, such as during a wellness examination, gavage feeding or minor beak related treatment. The small size suits smaller companion bird species where a scaled down speculum reduces the risk of causing discomfort or injury compared with using a larger instrument.
It should be cleaned and sterilised between patients following standard veterinary instrument reprocessing protocols.
