Sklar Landolt Reulen Curette, 2.5mm Diameter 10-1/4 Inch
A 10-1/4 inch curette with a 2.5mm diameter tip, used to scrape and remove tissue precisely during fine skull base and pituitary neurosurgical procedures.
5mm diameter working tip suited to precise, small scale tissue removal within confined skull base surgical corridors. As part of the Reulen instrument set developed alongside the Landolt system, it is used together with matching dissectors, hooks and raspatories that share the same length and diameter conventions, allowing the surgical team to move between different working actions, scraping, dissecting, hooking, without changing the overall reach or scale of the instruments in use.
The curette's small tip size reflects the precision needed in pituitary and related skull base surgery, where the working corridor and target tissue are both extremely small. Neurosurgeons performing transsphenoidal and other skull base approaches are the primary users of this instrument. As a reusable stainless steel instrument, it should be cleaned and sterilized between cases following standard neurosurgical reprocessing protocols, with the tip checked before use to confirm it remains sharp edged enough for controlled scraping without being damaged.
