Sklar Haight-Finochietto Rib Retractor
A Sklar Haight-Finochietto rib retractor with a 3 inch total opening, used to hold the ribs apart and maintain surgical access during thoracic surgery.
The Sklar Haight-Finochietto Rib Retractor is a self retaining instrument with a total opening of 3 inches, used to hold the ribs apart and maintain a stable surgical opening during thoracic and thoracic pediatric surgery. Like other rib spreaders, it works on a ratchet mechanism between two blades, allowing the surgical team to gradually widen the space between the ribs after the chest has been opened, providing the working access needed to reach the heart, lungs or other structures within the chest cavity.
This pattern, associated with both the Haight and Finochietto rib retractor families, is a recognized option for thoracic surgeons choosing between different rib spreader designs based on the patient size and procedure. Cardiothoracic surgeons rely on rib retractors as core equipment whenever a thoracotomy is performed, since maintaining stable, hands free retraction throughout the operation allows the surgical team to focus fully on the procedure itself.
This is a single configuration listing as offered by Sklar for this pattern.
