Sklar Faulkner Antrum Curette, Double Ended
A double ended curette with cutting rings on each end, used to remove diseased tissue from the maxillary sinus during ENT antrum surgery.
The Sklar Faulkner Antrum Curette is used in ENT surgery to remove diseased mucosa or other tissue from within the maxillary sinus, also known as the antrum, during sinus surgery. 8mm, letting them switch between the two ends during the procedure to work from different angles or reach different areas of the sinus cavity without exchanging instruments.
The cutting edges on each ring scrape diseased or hypertrophic tissue away from the sinus lining in a controlled manner. At eight and three quarter inches overall, it provides the reach needed to access the antrum through the nasal or oral approach used in this surgery. Instruments of this kind are used by ENT surgeons during Caldwell-Luc and other antrum procedures where sinus tissue needs to be curetted.
As a stainless steel instrument, it is designed for the repeated cleaning and sterilisation cycles typical of hospital ENT instrument sets and for continued reuse across many procedures.
