Sklar Econo Freer Elevator, Double End
A disposable double-ended elevator with a sharp tip and a blunt tip, used to lift and separate tissue or periosteum from bone during surgery. Supplied disposable for single use.
The Econo Freer elevator from Sklar is a disposable instrument used to lift and separate soft tissue, mucosa, or periosteum away from underlying bone during surgical procedures. It is double ended, offering a sharp working tip at one end for more precise separation and a blunt tip at the other for gentler elevation where a rounder edge is preferable, giving the surgeon two options on a single instrument without needing to switch tools mid-procedure.
At seven and a quarter inches, the elevator provides good reach and leverage for work within the nasal cavity, sinuses, and other areas common to ENT and general surgical practice. Supplied disposable, the elevator is used for a single case and then discarded, which keeps the working edges clean and properly defined rather than gradually dulled through repeated sterilisation of a reusable instrument, a factor that directly affects how cleanly tissue planes can be separated.
ENT departments, oral and maxillofacial surgery units, and general surgical theatres commonly keep this instrument stocked as a routine part of their procedure trays.
