Sklar Canny Ryall Retractor, 25mm x 32mm
A 7-1/2 inch retractor offered in three tip sizes, used to hold back tissue and provide clear exposure during abdominal or general surgery.
The Sklar Canny Ryall Retractor is a hand held retractor measuring seven and a half inches, used to hold soft tissue aside and maintain exposure during general and abdominal surgical procedures. It is available with three tip sizes, sixteen by twenty five millimetres, nineteen by twenty eight millimetres and twenty five by thirty two millimetres, so the surgical assistant can choose a blade proportioned to the depth and width of the wound being retracted.
A larger tip suits broader, deeper incisions where more tissue needs to be held back at once, while the smaller tip is better suited to more limited exposures. This retractor is typically used by a surgical assistant or scrub nurse holding exposure for the operating surgeon throughout a case, rather than being self retaining.
It is common across general surgery, gynaecology and urology wherever manual retraction is preferred over a self retaining device, and it is cleaned and sterilised between uses as part of the general surgical instrument set.
