Sklar Campbell Sound, 11 Inch, Short Round
An 11 inch short round urethral sound offered across nine French sizes, used by urologists to dilate and assess the urethra during procedures.
The Sklar Campbell Sound is a urologic instrument measuring eleven inches with a short round shaft, used to gently dilate and explore the urethra during diagnostic and therapeutic urologic procedures. It is available across nine French sizes ranging from six to twenty two French, allowing the urologist to progress gradually from a smaller to a larger sound as a stricture is dilated, or to select the size that suits an individual patient's anatomy from the outset.
The rounded, smooth tip is designed to pass along the urethral lumen with minimal trauma, and having a graded range of sizes on hand lets the clinical team manage a range of stricture severities within one procedure. This instrument is used by urologists in outpatient clinics, cystoscopy suites and operating theatres wherever urethral dilation or sounding is performed.
As with other urologic dilators, each sound is cleaned and sterilised or subjected to appropriate high level disinfection between patients according to the facility's reprocessing protocol.
