Sklar Burton Medial Ramus Orbital Retractor
An 11-1/2 inch retractor offered with several tip widths, used to hold back tissue around the mandible and orbit during maxillofacial surgery.
The Sklar Burton Medial Ramus / Orbital Retractor is a maxillofacial surgical retractor measuring eleven and a half inches, used to hold soft tissue away from bone around the mandibular ramus or the orbit while the surgeon works. It is offered with tip widths of four, eight and sixteen millimetres, so the surgical team can choose the blade size that matches the depth and width of exposure needed for a particular case, from a narrow orbital approach to a broader ramus exposure.
Retractors like this are used during orthognathic surgery, mandibular fracture repair and orbital floor procedures where clear, sustained retraction of soft tissue against bone is needed for safe dissection and fixation. Oral and maxillofacial surgeons and some ENT and plastic surgeons use this instrument as part of a dedicated facial trauma or orthognathic instrument set.
As with other reusable stainless retractors, it is cleaned thoroughly and sterilised between procedures to remain reliable across a busy maxillofacial surgery list.
