Sklar Burton Double Platal Retractor, 11 In
An 11 inch double ended retractor used to hold back soft tissue of the palate, giving the surgeon clear access during oral and dental surgery.
The Sklar Burton Double Platal Retractor is an eleven inch retractor used in oral, dental and maxillofacial surgery to hold back the soft tissue of the palate and give the surgeon a clear, unobstructed view of the surgical field. As a double ended instrument, it offers the surgeon a choice of blade at either end, letting one instrument serve more than one retraction need during a procedure without switching tools.
Retractors of this type are used during palatal surgery, cleft palate repair, and other procedures where soft palatal or oral tissue needs to be held aside while the surgeon works on underlying bone or mucosa. It is typically used by oral and maxillofacial surgeons and ENT surgeons working in the oral cavity, and is kept as part of a dedicated oral surgery instrument set.
Like other stainless surgical retractors, it is cleaned and sterilised between patients to remain safe for repeated use across a surgical schedule.
