Sklar Bunnel Tendon Passing Probe, Malleable
A malleable probe used in hand and tendon surgery to guide sutures through tendon tissue, available in two lengths to suit different repairs.
The Sklar Bunnel Tendon Passing Probe is a malleable surgical probe used in hand and orthopaedic surgery to guide suture material through tendon tissue during tendon repair. Because the shaft is malleable, the surgeon can bend it to follow the natural course of a tendon or to reach around adjacent structures before passing a suture, which is useful in the tight, layered anatomy of the hand and wrist.
It is available in two lengths, seven inches and nine inches, allowing the surgical team to choose the size that best matches the tendon being repaired and the depth of the surgical approach. This probe is used by hand surgeons and orthopaedic surgeons performing flexor or extensor tendon repairs, often as part of a dedicated hand surgery set alongside fine forceps, needle holders and tenotomy scissors.
It is reprocessed and sterilised between cases in the same way as other reusable fine instruments used in hand and upper limb surgery.
