Sklar Bodenhammer Rectal Speculum, Set Screw
A rectal speculum with a set screw mechanism and 3-1/2 inch blades, used to hold the anal canal open for examination or minor rectal procedures.
The Sklar Bodenhammer Rectal Speculum is a bivalve instrument used to open the anal canal for examination or minor procedures involving the lower rectum. Its set screw mechanism allows the clinician to lock the blades at the desired degree of opening once the speculum is positioned, holding the position steady without the clinician needing to keep manual pressure on the handles throughout the exam.
The blades in this listing measure 3-1/2 inches. This is a single configuration listing, sold as an individual instrument. Instruments of this pattern are used by colorectal surgeons, general surgeons and gastroenterology clinical staff performing anoscopy, hemorrhoid treatment and related procedures.
It is intended for use by trained clinical staff and, like other reusable specula, is cleaned and sterilised between uses in line with standard infection control practice.
