A medium sized Collin pattern vaginal speculum from Sklar with a black laser finish and a built in smoke evacuation tube, used during laser gynecologic procedures.
The Sklar Black Laser Collin Vaginal Speculum follows the Collin bivalve design, widely used in gynecology to open and hold the vaginal walls apart for examination or treatment. This medium sized version has a black, non reflective finish, applied specifically for use alongside a surgical laser, where a bright metal surface could reflect the beam back into the surgical field and reduce the surgeon's control or visibility.
It also includes a permanent smoke evacuation tube built into the speculum, letting the surgical team continuously clear laser generated smoke plume from the vaginal field during treatment of cervical, vaginal or vulvar lesions. This combination of features makes it a purpose built instrument for laser gynecologic surgery rather than a general examination speculum.
