Sklar Bergmann Retractor Hook, Single Prong, Sharp
A 5-1/2 inch single prong, sharp tipped hand hook used to grasp and retract skin or soft tissue edges during surgery.
The Sklar Bergmann Retractor Hook is a hand held single prong retractor used to grasp and hold back a skin or soft tissue edge during incision, dissection and closure. Measuring 5-1/2 inches with a sharp tip, it provides a firm, precise hold on tissue with a single point of contact, which some surgeons prefer over multi prong hooks for finer work or when a narrower profile is needed to avoid crowding the operative field.
The sharp point engages the tissue lightly enough to hold position without requiring heavy pressure, then releases cleanly once retraction is no longer needed. Retractor hooks of this kind are used across general, plastic and reconstructive surgery wherever a simple, controlled method of holding tissue clear of the working area is required, often as an assistant's instrument during a procedure led by another surgeon.
As with the related Barsky skin hook design, it is a straightforward, durable hand instrument built for repeated clinical use with standard hospital sterilization between cases, and is a common addition to general surgical instrument trays.
