Sklar Barton Traction Handle
A 6-3/4 inch traction handle used to apply steady, controlled pulling force during orthopedic surgery and fracture reduction procedures.
The Sklar Barton Traction Handle is an orthopedic instrument used to apply steady, controlled traction to a limb or bone segment during fracture reduction and related procedures. Traction handles give the surgeon a secure grip point through which pulling force can be applied without the hand slipping or the force being unevenly distributed, which matters when precise alignment of a fracture is the goal.
At 6-3/4 inches, this handle is sized for comfortable one or two handed use in the operating room, and its design follows the traditional Barton pattern relied on in orthopedic and trauma surgery. It is typically used alongside pins, wires or other fixation hardware that the surgeon places once the desired position is achieved, rather than performing fixation itself.
Built to the same manufacturing standard as the rest of the Sklar surgical instrument line, it is intended for repeated use through standard hospital sterilization. Operating rooms handling trauma and orthopedic caseloads commonly keep a traction handle in the set for fracture and joint procedures where manual control of limb position is required.
