Sklar Barth Curette, Double End
A double ended curette used to scrape out tissue, bone fragments or debris from a surgical cavity, giving the surgeon two working ends on a single handle.
The Sklar Barth Curette is a hand held scraping instrument with a curette loop at each end of a single shaft, letting the surgeon switch working ends without setting the instrument down and reaching for another. Curettes of this type are used to remove soft tissue, granulation, bone fragments or debris from the walls of a cavity or bone defect, a task common to orthopedic, ENT and general surgical procedures where a clean, controlled scraping action is needed rather than a cutting one.
The double ended design means one end can carry a different loop size or curvature from the other, giving the surgeon two options for reach or aggressiveness during the same pass through the tissue. As with other Sklar hand instruments, it is built for repeated use through standard sterilization cycles in a hospital or clinic setting.
Procurement teams supplying operating rooms often stock a small range of curette sizes and end styles so that the scrub team can select the right combination for the anatomy being treated.
