Sklar Barbara Micro Ear Needle, Straight
A straight 6 inch micro needle used in ENT microsurgery to gently manipulate or probe fine tissue within the middle ear. It is supplied for repeated sterilization and reuse in hospital and clinic settings.
The Sklar Barbara Micro Ear Needle is a straight ENT microsurgical instrument measuring 6 inches, used to gently probe, lift, or manipulate fine tissue and structures within the middle ear during otologic surgery. Its slender needle shaped tip allows the surgeon to work through the narrow confines of the ear canal or a small mastoid approach under microscope magnification, where the margin for error is small and instruments need to be both precise and unobtrusive within the surgical field.
This needle is typically used during tympanoplasty, exploratory tympanotomy, or other middle ear procedures where the surgeon needs to tease apart or examine tissue planes without cutting or grasping. Instruments of this fine scale are used almost exclusively by otolaryngologists and neurotologists performing microsurgical ear procedures, and are kept together in a dedicated ear microsurgery tray alongside picks, hooks, and other related fine instruments.
It requires careful handling and storage to protect the tip, and is reprocessed following standard microsurgical sterilization protocols.
