Having this range available lets the surgical team select the exact geometry needed for a specific step of tympanoplasty, stapedectomy, or ossicular chain reconstruction.
This hook is used almost exclusively by otolaryngologists and neurotologists performing delicate middle ear procedures, and is kept in a dedicated microsurgical ear instrument tray due to the precision required in its use and care. It is reprocessed following standard microsurgical instrument sterilization protocols.
