The Sklar Aufricht Nasal Retractor is a 6-3/4 inch nasal instrument fitted with an 11mm by 47mm fenestrated blade, used during rhinoplasty to hold back skin and soft tissue and improve the surgeon's view of the underlying nasal framework. The fenestration in the blade is designed to let light from a headlamp or overhead source pass through to the operative field, which helps the surgeon see fine anatomical detail deep within the retracted tissue.
This retractor is a common fixture in facial plastic and ENT rhinoplasty sets, used by plastic surgeons and otolaryngologists performing both open and closed rhinoplasty techniques where sustained, well lit exposure of the nasal dorsum and tip is needed. Its handle is shaped for a stable one handed grip, freeing the surgeon's other hand for instrumentation.
As a solid stainless instrument, it withstands repeated sterilization and is reused across the routine caseload of a rhinoplasty or facial plastic surgery practice.
