Sklar Agricola Lacrimal Sac Retractor
A delicate retractor with sharp curved prongs used to hold tissue open during surgery on the lacrimal sac and duct. It is built for repeated sterilisation and use across many cases.
The Sklar Agricola Lacrimal Sac Retractor is a fine ophthalmic and oculoplastic instrument used to hold tissue open during surgery involving the lacrimal sac, such as dacryocystorhinostomy and related lacrimal drainage procedures. Its delicate, sharp 3x3 curved prongs engage soft tissue at the edges of the surgical opening, providing exposure of the sac and duct in a compact operative field around the medial canthus.
The blade spread of 1-1/4 inches gives a defined retraction width suited to this small anatomical area, and the overall length of 1-1/2 inches keeps the instrument easy to control with fine finger movements rather than a full hand grip. Retractors of this scale are used by oculoplastic and ENT surgeons who operate in the periorbital region, where standard general surgery retractors would be too large and too blunt for the tissue involved.
It is a single fixed configuration, making it an easy addition to a lacrimal or oculoplastic instrument set.
