Reliance Relequip Scoop Stretcher
A scoop stretcher that splits lengthwise to lift a patient from either side, giving emergency responders a safer way to move an injured casualty.
The Relequip scoop stretcher is a patient transport device that splits into two halves lengthwise, allowing each side to be slid underneath a patient from either side of the body rather than needing to roll or lift the casualty onto the stretcher directly. This design reduces unnecessary movement of the patient during pickup, an important consideration when a spinal or other serious injury is suspected and excessive movement could worsen the outcome.
Once both halves are in place, they are reconnected at each end to form a single rigid stretcher, which can then be used to lift and carry the patient to a vehicle, treatment area or onward transport. Equipment of this kind is a standard part of emergency response, ambulance and first responder kit, used by paramedics, fire and rescue services, event medical teams and workplace emergency response units wherever a patient needs to be moved safely from the ground or an awkward position.
Its rigid construction supports the patient during lifting and transfer, keeping the body properly aligned throughout the process.
