The Bionex Sims Vaginal Retractor is a stainless steel instrument shaped to hold back the vaginal wall during gynaecological examinations and minor procedures, giving the clinician a clearer view of the cervix and surrounding structures. Its curved blade design follows the natural contour of the vaginal canal, making it easier to position and hold in place without causing unnecessary discomfort to the patient during the exam.
Made from stainless steel, the retractor is autoclavable, allowing it to go through a standard sterilisation cycle and be reused reliably across a busy gynaecology clinic or hospital department. Gynaecologists, obstetricians and specialist nurses use Sims retractors as a routine part of pelvic examinations, especially in positions where a single blade retractor gives better access than a bivalve speculum alone.
