Bionex Senn Miller Retractor, Stainless Steel
An autoclavable stainless steel Senn Miller retractor used in surgery to hold back tissue at the edge of an incision, improving surgical visibility.
The Bionex Senn Miller Retractor is a stainless steel double ended hand held retractor commonly used to hold back skin and soft tissue at the edges of a smaller incision, giving the surgeon or assistant a clear view of the operative site during dissection or closure. One end typically has three blunt or sharp prongs while the other has a flat blade, giving the operator two retraction options depending on the tissue and the amount of exposure needed at that stage of the procedure.
This flexibility makes it a popular choice for a wide range of general and minor surgical procedures where the surgical field is relatively shallow and a large self retaining retractor would be unnecessary. Made from stainless steel, it is autoclavable and built to withstand the repeated sterilisation cycles expected of reusable surgical instruments in a hospital operating theatre.
General surgeons, plastic surgeons and operating theatre assistants across many specialties rely on Senn retractors as one of the most frequently used hand retractor patterns in their instrument sets. As with other reusable stainless steel instruments, it must be properly decontaminated and sterilised between cases before returning to the tray.
