3M SoluPrep S Sterile Antiseptic Skin Solution
A sterile preoperative skin antiseptic combining chlorhexidine gluconate and isopropyl alcohol, tinted for visibility on the skin.
3M SoluPrep S Sterile Antiseptic Solution is a preoperative patient skin preparation used by surgical and procedural teams before incisions, injections or other invasive procedures. It combines 2 percent weight per volume chlorhexidine gluconate with 70 percent volume per volume isopropyl alcohol, a widely used antiseptic pairing that helps reduce microorganisms on the skin surface ahead of surgery.
The solution carries a Brite Green tint, which the manufacturer states helps the prepped area remain visible across a range of skin tones and can also improve how well surgical drapes adhere to the treated skin. It is supplied as a single-use sterile applicator, so each patient receives a fresh, unopened unit rather than solution drawn from a shared container, which supports infection prevention protocols in the operating room.
Hospitals, surgical centres and clinics that carry out invasive procedures are the typical buyers of this antiseptic preparation.
