3M RelyX Fiber Post is a fiber post system used by dentists in cases where a tooth has undergone root canal treatment and needs additional retention for a core build-up or crown restoration. The system is designed to save time by removing the priming, etching and bonding steps that some other post systems require, streamlining the post placement procedure at the chairside.
Each post has a translucent design that lets light pass through it during placement, which facilitates light curing of the surrounding cement or core material even at a distance from the tooth surface, while its tapered shape is designed to conserve as much of the natural root canal dentin as possible during preparation, an important consideration for the long-term strength of the root.
The radiopaque material also means the post is easy to identify on a radiograph at a recall appointment, helping the clinical team monitor the tooth over time.
