3M Ketac Molar Aplicap Glass Ionomer Restorative is a glass ionomer material formulated for posterior dental restorations, offering high compressive strength and marginal integrity to withstand the biting forces experienced by molar and premolar teeth. Like the Quick version in the same range, this material is bulk-fill and packable, allowing larger increments to be placed in a single step, and it is fast-setting, supporting efficient posterior restorative appointments.
The material is described as less technique-sensitive than a composite restorative, which makes it well suited to difficult-to-isolate posterior fillings, where moisture control can be more challenging than in an anterior restoration. As a glass ionomer, it also provides fluoride release, supporting the health of the surrounding tooth structure at the restoration margin over time.
This restorative is dispensed via the Aplicap capsule system, which allows for consistent, mechanically activated mixing rather than hand mixing, and suits general dental practices completing routine posterior restorative work.
