3M Comply Hydrogen Peroxide Indicator Tape, STERRAD
An exposure indicator tape that securely seals sterilization packs and changes colour from blue to pink after exposure to vaporized hydrogen peroxide cycles.
The 3M Comply Hydrogen Peroxide Indicator Tape is used to seal instrument packs going through vaporized hydrogen peroxide sterilization and to give a simple visual confirmation that the pack was exposed to the sterilant. The tape changes colour from blue to pink once it has been exposed to vaporized hydrogen peroxide, which is the sterilization method used in STERRAD systems, including the Models 50, 100S and 100 referenced for compatibility.
This dual function, securing the package while also acting as an exposure indicator, makes it a practical, everyday consumable for sterile processing departments that run low temperature hydrogen peroxide sterilization for instruments unsuited to steam. Staff apply the tape when assembling packs and check for the pink colour change during unpacking as a quick pass or fail visual cue before instruments are released for use.
It is used routinely alongside biological and chemical indicators as part of a layered monitoring approach in hospitals and specialised sterile processing facilities running STERRAD cycles.
