An internal pack monitor strip that visually confirms exposure to ethylene oxide or EO/HCFC gas sterilization cycles, used for warm and cool process checks.
The 3M Comply Ethylene Oxide Chemical Indicator Strip is an internal pack monitor placed inside instrument packaging to give an immediate visual method of confirming exposure to ethylene oxide gas sterilization. It is designed to work across both warm and cool cycle variations of 100 percent ethylene oxide as well as EO and hydrochlorofluorocarbon gas mixture processes, making it suitable for the range of EO sterilizer configurations still in use across hospitals and reprocessing facilities.
Because ethylene oxide sterilization is typically reserved for heat and moisture sensitive devices such as certain endoscopes, electronic equipment and complex lumened instruments, having a simple internal indicator strip lets sterile processing staff confirm exposure at the pack level without waiting for slower biological indicator results.
This strip is used as routine practice alongside biological and other chemical indicators in central sterile supply departments and specialised reprocessing units. The product is noted as transitioning to the equivalent Solventum branded EO chemical indicator strip.
