The 3M Attest Mini Auto-Reader is used in sterile processing departments to incubate and automatically read biological indicators that confirm whether a sterilization cycle achieved the microbial kill needed for safe reuse of instruments. It is a dual reader, meaning it is compatible with several indicator types, including the Attest Super Rapid Readout Biological Indicator 1492V for steam sterilization, the Attest Super Rapid Readout Biological Indicator 1491 also for steam sterilization, and the Attest Rapid Readout Biological Indicator 1295 for vaporized hydrogen peroxide sterilization.
Operating at 140 degrees Fahrenheit, or 60 degrees Celsius, it delivers a final fluorescent result in as little as 24 minutes, which lets a sterile processing team release a sterilized load for use far sooner than older culture-based biological monitoring methods that can take days.
