The frame style construction refers to the way the dressing's backing frame supports the film during application, which is intended to make it easier to apply the dressing smoothly without wrinkling or trapping air bubbles under the film, an issue that can otherwise reduce adhesion and clarity.
Like other dressings in the Tegaderm range, it works to maintain a moist wound healing environment beneath the film and provides a bacterial barrier as well as a barrier against viruses of a certain size, based on in vitro testing, while the dressing stays intact without leakage.
