The Tegaderm HP Transparent Film Dressing, Frame Style, is designed to protect IV catheter sites and wounds while providing extra holding power compared with a standard film dressing, making it suitable for more challenging conditions such as skin with moderate amounts of moisture. Some patients or clinical situations present skin conditions that make it harder for a standard adhesive film to stay in place for a full wear cycle, and this HP, or high performance, version is formulated to maintain adhesion better under those circumstances.
The frame style backing supports smooth, wrinkle free application of the flexible film, helping avoid trapped air bubbles that can reduce both adhesion and visibility of the site underneath. As with other Tegaderm dressings, it may be worn during showering when a waterproof cover is used over the dressing and IV site, supporting patient comfort during the wear period.
