Functionally, these closures work the same way as other Steri-Strip products, providing a non-invasive method of holding wound edges together for minor lacerations and certain surgical incisions without the added trauma of suturing. The choice of a blended, more skin-toned colour can be a consideration in visible areas of the body, such as the face or hands, where a closure that is less visually noticeable may be preferred by patients during the healing period, without any change to the closure's clinical performance.
