Sklar Wachenfeldt Clip Forceps, Cross Action
A 5 inch cross action clip forceps used to apply and position wound clips during surgical skin closure procedures.
The Sklar Wachenfeldt Clip Forceps is used to pick up and apply metal wound clips to the skin edges during surgical closure, an alternative technique to standard suturing for certain incisions. Its cross action mechanism, where squeezing the handles closes the tips around the clip, gives the surgeon precise placement control as each clip is applied along the wound.
At five inches, it is a compact, manoeuvrable size suited to working along an incision line without obstructing the surgeon's view. Clip forceps of this kind are used across general and orthopaedic surgery wherever skin closure with wound clips is preferred, often for longer incisions or in situations where speed of closure matters.
Surgeons and surgical assistants in hospital operating theatres use this instrument specifically alongside a supply of matching wound clips, such as the Wachenfeldt clips also stocked as a companion product. As a reusable stainless steel instrument, it is cleaned, inspected and steam sterilized between cases.
