The Sklar Utility Forceps is an 8 inch straight instrument intended for general purpose grasping and holding rather than a single specialised task. Utility forceps like this one are kept on surgical and dental trays to pick up gauze, dressings, small instruments, or tissue when a dedicated tool is not required, making them one of the more frequently reached for pieces in a set.
Their straight jaw pattern suits a direct line of approach, and the 8 inch length gives the operator reach without sacrificing control at the tip. Surgical teams, dental practices, and sterile processing departments use forceps of this type as everyday workhorse instruments alongside more specialised clamps and graspers.
As with most stainless surgical instruments, they are designed to be cleaned and autoclaved between uses so they can be returned to circulation quickly. This listing covers the single 8 inch straight configuration of the Sklar utility forceps.
