Sklar Thomas-Gaylor Biopsy Forceps, 9-1/2 In
A 9-1/2 inch biopsy forceps used to take controlled tissue samples during ear, nose and throat and other biopsy procedures.
The Sklar Thomas-Gaylor Biopsy Forceps is designed to remove a small, controlled sample of tissue for pathological examination. Its cupped jaw tip closes to shear off a defined piece of tissue rather than crushing or tearing it, which helps preserve the sample's structure for accurate diagnosis. At nine and a half inches, it gives the clinician enough reach to access biopsy sites within the nasal cavity, throat or other areas that a shorter instrument could not reach comfortably.
Biopsy forceps of this kind are used in ENT clinics, endoscopy suites and operating theatres wherever a tissue sample needs to be obtained for histopathology, such as investigating a suspicious lesion or mass. ENT surgeons, gastroenterologists performing upper procedures, and specialist nurses are typical users depending on the clinical setting.
As a reusable stainless steel instrument, it is cleaned, inspected and steam sterilized between patients following the facility's standard protocol for biopsy instruments.
