Sklar TC Gorney-Adson Tissue Forceps, DIA
A 4-3/4 inch tungsten carbide tissue forceps with a smooth tying platform and 1x2 teeth, used for gentle tissue handling in plastic surgery.
The Sklar TC Gorney-Adson Tissue Forceps is a fine variant of the Adson pattern developed for plastic and cosmetic surgery, where tissue handling needs to be gentle enough to protect the final cosmetic result. Its jaws carry tungsten carbide inserts with a smooth 1x2 tooth tip and a built-in tying platform, letting the surgeon both grasp delicate skin and manage suture material for knot tying without switching instruments.
At four and three quarter inches, it is compact enough for close facial and hand surgery work. The tungsten carbide inserts give the fine teeth better wear resistance over repeated sterilization than an all stainless steel version. This forceps is used by plastic and reconstructive surgeons in hospital theatres and dedicated cosmetic surgery clinics wherever delicate skin closure and tissue handling is required.
As a reusable instrument, it is cleaned, inspected and steam sterilized between cases as part of a fine plastic surgery tray.
