Sklar Sistrunk Dissecting Scissors, Straight
A 5-1/2 inch straight dissecting scissors used to separate and cut soft tissue during general and head and neck surgical procedures.
The Sklar Sistrunk Dissecting Scissors is a mid sized straight scissors used for general tissue dissection where a longer reach than a fine scissors offers, without the bulk of a heavier pattern. At five and a half inches, it suits both blunt spreading of tissue planes and controlled sharp cutting during the same procedure.
This instrument takes its name from its association with head and neck surgery, notably thyroglossal duct excision, though the pattern is used more broadly across general surgery wherever straightforward tissue dissection is required. Surgeons and surgical assistants in hospital operating theatres use it as a workhorse dissecting scissors on general and ENT trays.
It is made from surgical stainless steel, fully reusable, and reprocessed through routine washing, inspection and steam sterilization between cases. This listing covers more than one configuration of the Sistrunk pattern for buyers with different tray requirements.
