Sklar Moynihan Towel Clamp, 7-1/2 Inch
A 7-1/2 inch towel clamp used to secure surgical drapes and towels in place around the operative field before and during surgery.
The Sklar Moynihan Towel Clamp is used to hold surgical drapes and towels firmly in position around the incision site, keeping the sterile field stable throughout a procedure and preventing drapes from shifting as the surgical team moves around the patient. Towel clamps of this type pierce through the layers of drape material at their edges and lock closed with a ratchet mechanism, holding the layers together securely without requiring constant attention from theatre staff once applied.
This is a basic but essential piece of equipment used at the start of virtually every open surgical procedure across all specialties, from general surgery to orthopaedics and obstetrics, wherever a sterile field needs to be established and maintained. Surgeons and scrub nurses apply several of these clamps around the perimeter of the drape at the beginning of a case.
It measures 7-1/2 inches overall. This listing is a single configuration. As with other Sklar surgical instruments, it is manufactured from surgical stainless steel and intended for repeated cleaning and sterilisation between cases.
