Sklar Micro Mosquito Forceps, Straight 1x2 Teeth
A small, fine tipped forceps used to clamp delicate blood vessels and control bleeding during microsurgical or paediatric surgery.
The Sklar Micro Mosquito Forceps is a scaled down version of the classic mosquito haemostat, built for clamping very small or delicate vessels where a standard sized mosquito forceps would be too large or too forceful for the tissue involved. The 1x2 tooth pattern at the tip helps the fine jaws grip a small vessel securely without slipping, giving the surgeon time to ligate or cauterise the bleeding point precisely.
This scaled down pattern is used in microsurgery, paediatric surgery, plastic surgery and other fine surgical work where vessel calibre is small and instrument precision matters more than reach or jaw strength. Surgeons operating in these specialties keep several of these forceps available on a tray, since fine bleeding points can occur at multiple locations within a delicate surgical field.
This listing covers five variants of the pattern, offering a small range of closely related configurations within the micro mosquito family. As with other Sklar surgical instruments, it is manufactured from surgical stainless steel for repeated sterilisation and use.
