Sklar Michel Wound Clip Forceps, 5 Inch
A 5 inch forceps used to apply or remove Michel skin clips during surgical wound closure and follow up wound care.
The Sklar Michel Wound Clip Forceps is designed to work with Michel clips, the small metal clips used to close skin wounds and surgical incisions as an alternative to sutures. The forceps allows a clinician to position a clip precisely along the wound edge and apply consistent, even pressure to close it, and can also be used later to grip and remove a clip once the wound has healed enough for the clip to be taken out.
Having a purpose built instrument for this task reduces the risk of damaging the clip or disturbing the healing wound compared with using a general purpose forceps not designed for the clip's shape. General surgeons, emergency department clinicians and nursing staff use this forceps wherever Michel clips are the closure method of choice, such as scalp lacerations or certain surgical incisions.
It measures 5 inches overall. This listing is a single configuration. As with other Sklar surgical instruments, it is manufactured from surgical stainless steel and intended for repeated cleaning and sterilisation between patients.
